September 25 Practice Session


We are hosting a curling practice session at the Pavilion on September 25 from 7:30 – 9:30 PM.  Cost is $25/person.  If you would like to participate, e-mail palmettocurling@gmail.com and we will send you registration/payment information. This is a great opportunity to work on your delivery and other curling skills.  Remember that in order to hold these open sessions, we need to be sure ice costs are covered.  If you commit, your attendance is very important.

Team Peper Wins 2012 South Carolina State Curling Championship


Team Peper, from The Palmetto Curling Club, won the 2012 South Carolina State Curling Championship tonight, defeating the Team Marshall, from The Palmetto Curling Club, by a score of 10 – 4, in a game that was much closer than the score indicates.

South Carolina State Curling Championship Set For This Tuesday

The South Carolina State Curling Championship games have been set for this coming Tuesday, June 5, 2012.  The matches will begin at 8:00 PM at The Pavilion in Taylors, SC.  The championship game will pit Team Peper (7-2-1), lead by first year skip – Lon Peper, vs. Team Marshall (7-2-1), lead by veteran skip – Bill Marshall. 

 

Team Marshall started out the season with a pair of losses and a tie before putting together a 7 game winning streak to end the regular season.  Team Peper started the season with 6 wins and one tie to clinch their division early, before finishing the season with a pair of losses and a final win leading into this weeks championship game.

 

The two championship teams did not meet during the regular season, and promises to be an exciting game.

On Friday, May 4, 2012, the Charlotte Curling Club hosted the first half of our Friendly for the 1712 Cup for 2012.  This is the second annual Friendly with the Charlotte Curling Club.  There were four rinks and four matches, good competition and a lot of fun.  Each club won 2 events, however the events use a point system, based on Points scored and Ends won.  Below are the results:
